My Best Wishes

This is my greeting card for this year.
It represent very well my mood for the past year.
This year I started to hear even less and then I tried hanging a lot of time alone.
I have read many books, I photographed a little and I tried to travel as soon as possible.
My great hope for the new year is to recover hearing by surgery.
I don't want to feel caged in a silence that I haven't chosen.

I do not like the cold, not here where I live.
There is nothing poetic, the snow gets dirty quickly.
The sky is gray, there is often a feeling of sadness.
The winter colors here are always hidden behind a gray scale.

Holidays for me are the sun and color and whenever I can
I go into the sun.
Like now .. Maspalomas is waiting for me!

The place is on Varese lake and the colors are usually in this way in winter sunsets.

Yesterday evening I went out to do some shots with a Nikon D3000 I have bought for my niece Federica. I wanted to take only a few shots in low light, just to try.

The best shot of the day was this one for many reasons.

Yes ... it's me standing over a pier on Varese Lake after sunset.
All around there is a perfect sensation of calmness and silence.
I cant hear nothing ... not the gentle lapping of the waters,
not the steps of the people walking through the fallen leaves
... not even the wind noise even though I love it ... silence perfect ... silence.
I can hear only some screams in the distance without understanding the words ...

I'm still waiting to come out from my deafness

Infinite Silence is the perfect title for this shot that mirrors inside the same sensation what you can see outside.

Today during my lunch break, I jumped down to the lake to see the snow on Monte Generoso. Unfortunately, he had started to rain and a lot of snow had already melted. I found myself in front of a steel-colored scene, the moment was sad and strange. Gulls was perched on a railing by the lake.
I approached and at the sound of my footsteps they are up in flight.
They circled around me throwing sad cries in the rain.
The scene looked like a watercolor so I grabbed my phone and tried to take a picture .... this is the result!

Along the road coming back from work.
The evening was very clear.
The snow on the mountains and the lights in the distance give the idea of Christmas, so I stopped my car to take a few shots of this enchanting landscape.

The year was 2002 and yet I used the film to which I recently joined one of the first digital camera, a Nikon Cooplix 885.
Unfortunately I shot in small size. I did not think the digital would become predominant!

The image on the door is not a mirrored landscape but a painting.

Photographic illusions


Playa del Reducto is a superb white sandy beach.
It is the main beach in Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote. This beach is protected by natural reefs transforming it into a beach with calm waters that resemble a large pool.
I have dove this shot a few meters from the Gran Hotel de Arrecife which is a skyscraper a few meters from the water.
Behind me there was the tipical city traffic ....

Lanzarote - August

Evening before dinner, I was in the kitchen and the sun went down slowly.
Every time my eyes came back to look beyond the window of the salon and the sun always slow down ...
Shortly before he hid behind the horizon I took my camera, went out on the porch and I took this one.
My eyes ... the eye in the sky!

It was an evening of Calima and then there were bright colors, but only a slow fade ... as a something sad and beautiful ....

There's a place where I love to stay, far away from everything.
In the peace of my little house I live simply days of simply life and I feel in peace with everything and everyone.
Tomorrow I will be back in Lanzarote ...
There's a special feeling with this island.
The landscape is hard and gently at the same time and remembers me every moment that life wins always!

Mirror

Luekerbad is a fantastic place in Switzerland in the Valais region.
Its main attraction are the hot springs.
I discovered this place a few years ago thinking of going there sometimes just because it is not very far from my house.
Then I was enchanted instead it because when I get there I find it really good.
As my practice I take a house there and I transfer arms and baggage for several days or even a weekend when I want.
The weapons and luggage are usually books, a large bag of books!
I spend my days between the morning walks, lectures after lunch and spa in the late afternoon ... There's nothing more relaxing than having nothing to do!

Parc Güell

The Parc Guell in Barcelona is one of the most intriguing places to visit.

In 1900 Eusebi Guëll, a well known Catalan industrialist, commissioned his friend and protégé Antoni Gaudí with the development of the project.
With the support from other architects Gaudí worked on the garden village until 1914 when it was clear the project was a commercial failure: Guëll failed
to sell a single house. In 1918 the city acquired the property and in 1922 it was opened to the public as a park.

Parc Guëll was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1984.
